Cambridge Art Salon was formed in 2011, out of an old disused motorbike shop in Romsey Town, Cambridge. Since then, our studios and gallery spaces have helped launch the careers of professional artists and makers starting out in the Cambridge area, many of whom are established nationally and internationally. We also curate arts projects with a community focus, using our spaces to help make the arts accessible to groups that may face barriers to inclusion in the arts. These include families and children, parents in the arts, young people facing disadvantage, young women at risk in the community, the elderly, outsider artists. Volunteering is at the heart of what we do, with many of our projects and spaces supported by long term unemployed and those with health issues, as well as recent arts graduates and emerging artists.
